Weekend of Great Weather

This weekend was amazing weather wise.  We took full advantage of that and played outside.

Flash Mob

So how cool is this...our first day back to work and I was apart of a flash mob!  I was asked via email from our district office back in June.  Initially I was thinking absolutely not!  I was wondering how in the world they got my name to do this or who in the heck would nominate me!  Then after talking with some other friends/coworkers that were going to participate, they coaxed me into it.  The night before, I was totally sick to my stomach, nervous, that night I didn't sleep very well and that morning I was still sick!  I hate doing things like this and it was WAY out of my comfort zone, but I did it and I am so glad I went though with it.  It was a fun way to kick off the new school year.

Here I go!

Last Week of Summer

Last week I tried to keep my mind off of going back to work.  I made sure to keep busy with lots of little activities.  We finger painted, played outside, went shopping and to Deanna Rose.  Now, I'm back to work and miss just hanging out with the little guy.  :(

He loves to suck his thumb and play with tags on things

First Hair Cut

Last weekend, we finally decided to have Griffin's hair cut.  We took him to Sheer Madness thinking positive thoughts and let's just say the only positive aspect of the trip was that he got his hair cut.  He did not like sitting in the car, he did not like the lady cutting his hair, he did not like the TV show that was on, he did not like sitting on my lap, nor Tanner's lap, and he did not even like the sucker that I specifically asked for.  I think the pictures say it all...

Back to Work

Tomorrow is the big day...back to work.  Wish me luck, say a little prayer, send good thoughts.  I never like leaving my "baby" but I have to.  :(  I know I haven't posted many pictures lately, I will but I've been super busy, running around with G the last few days.

Here goes nothing...(taking a deep breath)

Last Day of Gymboree

Yesterday was a bit of a sad day; it was our last day of Gymboree.  This means one thing to me...summer is coming to an end and it's back to work time.  Now don't get me wrong, I love my job and enjoy my little kiddos at school completely, but come on, there's nothing better than having the opportunity to spend an entire summer with your baby.  So, instead of looking at it as I HAVE to go back to work, I'm going to look at it as I GET to see my other little loves and then come home and see my favorite loves.

This summer was amazing and went very quickly.  I know at the beginning I thought that we would have lots of play dates, enjoy the pool, go to Deanna Rose, etc and I was going to try to have G go to 1 nap a day.  Well, that wasn't exactly how it went.  Yes, we did have lots of play dates, but I was only brave enough to take him to the pool on the weekends, when Tanner could also join us and we also went to Deanna Rose once again when Tanner could join us.  As far as the nap thing...well, he still LOVES his sleep and it looks like we are going to stick with 2 naps.  We'll see about trying that again during Winter Break.

So back to Gymboree...I am so thankful that I decided to sign him up because before, he was a bit timid and clung to my leg when someone would approach him and would barely smile when he was talked to by a "stranger".  Well now, he's very independent and isn't afraid to go explore without me.  He talks a lot and doesn't seem to take very long to warm up to someone.   A little story...the other day, I needed to work in my room and had to attend a meeting so I asked our babysitter, Jen to watch him for the day.  (He hasn't been there since May, so I was afraid he wouldn't feel comfortable with her or her kids.)  When we pulled up, she was outside waiting for us.  As we walked up to her, he reached for her hand, walked with her into her house, greeted her kids, (Masen, 8, Dawson, 4, and Emerson, almost 2) then went right to where the toys are.  It was almost like he remembered everything!  So I don't know if that is a thank you to Gymboree for helping him socialize or if it was the fact that he just felt comfortable.  I would like to think that it was because of Gymboree.  It is definitely something I will continue to do each summer.

G and Ms. Amy...he LOVES her!

Log roll-you can see how much bigger he is than the others (which are the same age)
