baby's hand

They tell you to drink at least 32 oz of water prior to arrival, apparently I did not comprehend the water bottle correctly. I drank way more than 32 oz plus I drank half a Mountain Dew. (I was told to drink a Mountain Dew because the caffeine would make the baby move like crazy.) By the time we arrived for our 1:30 appointment, as you can imagine, I had an extremely full bladder. It was so full I wasn't able to sit comfortably. As soon as I saw the sonogram technician, I immediately told her I had a really full bladder. Once she put her little tool thingy on my belly she agreed that it was really, really full. Luckily, she quickly looked at my cervix and then allowed me to go to the restroom. Thank goodness or else I would have burst!
The Mountain Dew really went to work, the baby was moving all over the place. In fact, the lady had a hard time getting good pictures since the baby was so active. However, she was able to get a few good ones. Let's just say, enough to make me cry again. It's so crazy to look at a monitor and see the same thing that is in my belly! I love it! The entire time she was looking around, Tanner and I kept asking her questions. I repeatedly kept asking if she could tell what the sex was. Finally, at the end, she knew what it was. I was hoping she would accidentally slip, but she was good!
The baby weighs about 11 oz now and the doctor says that everything looks good and the baby looks very healthy. That's all I want to hear! It's very comforting to know that and to be reassured. The baby currently is about the size of a large mango. I'm feeling the kicks, turns, punches and all of the fun stuff a little stronger now. Tuesday morning, I was lying in bed, contemplating waking up, when I felt the baby kick. It was very persistent and getting stronger so I placed my hand where I felt it and got a bit of a surprise...I felt the baby kick from the outside this time. Unfortunately, Tanner had just left for the gym so I called him right away to tell him the exciting news. He is a bit jealous because he hasn't felt it yet, but I keep reassuring him he will very soon.
